About Yachiru disappearing, They kind of hinted at her being possibly related to the fact that he didn't know his swords name on this page http://www.mangapanda.com/bleach/577/14

So possibly Yachiru was something the sword created to try to get through to kenpachi since he couldn't hear its voice, and once he finally called it out she disappeared since she was no longer needed. Think of.. Zanpaktou spirits. She could also have been an illusion that Gremmy or whoever created, he did seem to know a lot about kenpachi but I doubt this.

Hell she might have just went to find those other captains that gremmy "killed".

Oh and well about her her having a Shikai, well was that really her Shikai, cause I mean she never even used a call for it, they just kind of outright appeared.

I actually saw a lot of speculation about her being a manifestation of Zaraki's sword when I googled her disappearance but I refused to believe it. Also, I saw part of her disappearing in the link you showed but I paid no mind to it when I read it for myself.

Speaking of bleach. Remember when this arc was titled "The Quincy Blood War". Pretty sure the writer forgot that considering most of the enemies have powers that seemed to be pulled out of nowhere. But hey ichigo is part quincy...and a bunch of other things. so maybe he'll pull a power out of nowhere.

My assumption of fire wasn't made from that. My assumption was made when Ichigo first revealed his new Zanpakuto and all the water evaporated around him and there was steam too.

That's when I came up with fire.

This was already explained however. The water surrounding the anvil serves the purpose of cooling down the zanpakutou. The bigger the mass of reiatsu the swords hold, the more water evaporates. It's the same principle as Genryusai's West Bankai technique, the reiatsu-density is so great it produces heat.


In short; it had nothing to do with a new ability, it happens every time the Squad 0 guy forges a zanpakutou, it just never happened at this giant scale.
